Meal Applications

District Meal Benefits Available Throughout School Year

The New Castle County Vo-Tech School District offers free or reduced-price meals to any student who qualifies. To apply for these benefits, a Meal Benefit Form must be completed. Forms are available to the left, in the Guidance Office, or from the school cafeteria manager.

If your family chooses to apply please complete a "Meal Benefits Form." You will be notified by mail of your student's status. Until notification you must provide your child with a lunch or lunch money.

Only submit one application to the New Castle County Vo-Tech School District if you have more than one student in the family attending.  The information you give will be used to determine or prove your child's eligibility for free or reduced-priced meals. This information may also be used for other state or federally funded school benefits.  If you completed a Meal Benefit Form for students in a different school district that information will not be transferred to the New Castle County Vo-Tech School District.  You will need to submit a Meal Benefit Form to New Castle County Vo-Tech School District as well in order to be considered for benefits.

Factors considered in the application process are household size and total household income. Household size includes all persons, related or unrelated: Including parents, children, grandparents who live in your home and share living expenses.  Total Household Income includes the income each household member received last month before taxes - this includes wages, social security, pension, unemployment, welfare, child support, alimony, and any other cash income.

Foster Children - In certain cases, foster children are eligible for free and reduced-price meals regardless of your income. If you have foster children living with you and want to apply for them, please contact us.

Meal Benefits Forms

Forms should be completed and then returned to Guidance or the Cafeteria or by mail to the Nutrition Services Office. You will be notified by mail with the results. You may apply or reapply at any time during the school year should your income change or should you become unemployed. Please remember in this changing, stressful economy, that these meal benefits are available through our school district.  If you have any questions, please call the Nutrition Services Office at 302-995-8066.

Thank you.
